LocalBitcoins was founded in 2012 in Finland by Nikolaus Kangas and has since grown to become one of the leading marketplaces for Bitcoin in the world without any outside investment. LocalBitcoins offers a platform for sellers and buyers from around the world to meet and trade Bitcoins. It’s like the Craigslist for buying and selling Bitcoin.
Secure trading LocalBitcoins allows for secure trading through the use of several measures: Reputation system – Each trader has a reputation rank and also public history records showing their past activities. Escrow – When you request a trade, the traded Bitcoins are held on LocalBitcoins’ escrow service.
The Bitcoins are released only after the seller confirms the trade is completed. 2FA (optional) – Whenever you log into your account you will be required to enter an additional PIN code sent to your mobile phone. This prevents people from hacking into your account. This option is not enabled by default.
A quick step-by-step guide on how to buy bitcoins with cash on LocalBitcoins:
  1. Find a seller in your area who accepts cash.
  2. Select amount of coins and place an order.
  3. Receive account number from the seller.
  4. Deposit cash into the seller's account.
  5. Upload your receipt to prove you made the deposit/trade.
  6. Receive bitcoins!
Local Bitcoins is a different sort of exchange that allows anyone anywhere to trade. It therefore has the largest amount of markets - although some without much liquidity - for example in Venezuela and other emerging markets. LocalBitcoins works like an open outcry with people in the same location as you - if you want to trade you can place a buy or a sell for a price and wait to be contacted by someone who wants to execute that trade. After agreeing the trade funds are released and held in escrow and depending on the specifics of the local banking system and times for transactions to get confirmed, the trade will eventually be completed.
There can be complications which mostly come in the form of couterparty risk - where someone refuses to go ahead with the trade as the price in the market has moved in their favour - so they gain by keeping the bitcoins or USD if they have gone up. Localbitcoins has a dispute resolution system in place to handle these sorts of issues - but on the flipside there is a reputation based system - so you can gauge whether your trading party is reliable or not.
Trading fees vary and depend on whether you have placed an advert to sell - whereby LocalBitcoins takes a 1% fee.
In all a good means to exchange Bitcoin but it doesn't have the razor edge price discovery, and execution time of more traditional order driven exchanges.
Login guard – LocalBitcoins is also able to verify you are always logging in from the same browser. If a login from a different browser occurs, an email verification will be required. Support and conflict resolution – LocalBitcoins has a support team ready to answer user questions and also resolve conflicts between buyers and sellers in case it happens.
LocalBitcoins Fees Registering, buying and selling Bitcoins on LocalBitcoins is completely free. LocalBitcoins users who create advertisements are charged a 1% fee for every completed trade.
So basically, only the people who are actively promoting their services (i.e. makers) are being taxed. Transactions to wallets of other LocalBitcoins users are also free of charge. Each time you send Bitcoins outside of LocalBitcoins, you will only be charged the standard Bitcoin Network fee, which varies depending on how crowded the network is. It’s highly recommended not to leave your Bitcoins lying around in LocalBitcoins’ wallet and to move it to your own secure Bitcoin wallet.

Get started accepting Bitcoin Cash with zero fees in this wonderful POS integration! It is a seamless way to add items for goods and services and only requires an email to get it up and running. (I recommend this site but not coinbase's exchange because local.bitcoin.com is more decentralized)

Scammed Out Of $8500 Aud Worth Of BTC By Nigerian Scammer. Caught Him Early and Froze Funds.

Basically my funds are frozen in the guys account and I need to know if I have any chance of getting them back? please read if you think you have any answers or information :)|
So on 5/2/18 I was stupid enough to release my btc to a guy on Local Btc who had a legit profile, he had 100% positive feedback, had traded a decent amount over a 12 month period, had been verified in all the required fields and had trusted verification from high rated traders.... I am aware that I should absolutley not have released the bitcoin to the guy but i was in a terrible and stressed state of mind and somehow let him convince me to release it despite my better judgement. I managed to put a strike on him about an hour after the trade after I noticed the one thing I didn't when checking his profile out. He had an Isp from the U.K but his mobile was in Nigeria.
After a day or so I noticed that the guy kept replying on local bitcoin in the chat from our trade, and he sent me a number to talk on whatsapp. I added him and instantly he started saying he was hacked and he would love to give me back my bitcoin if I just get his account unblocked by contacting the admin and telling them i was wrong and our trade was finalised.... I told him there was zero % chance and that I know he plans on just getting the account unblocked so he can ride off into the sunset.
We have been talking for days and I managed to get a screenshot of his account balance because he wanted me to pay him $2000 for his login details, and I said I would if he gives me screenshot to prove it still has bitcoin in it. ( no intentions of sending him any more money haha)t It in fact has the exact amount I sent minus the Local bitcoin fee. So I have been trying for about 4-5 days or more to contact local bitcoin to see if they can help and they replied a few times but not for quite some time now, and the fact that I know and can prove all this stuff, and the fact that my bitcoin is still frozen in his account I should theoretically be able to recover it with LBTC's help
If you managed to read my poorly typed explanationplease help me with any information you can guys!! Thanks in advance :D

Why is KYC/AML on cryptocurrency exchanges a bad thing if your trying to exit the fiat system and just spend/earn Bitcoin Cash? The fees are way lower than what sellers are charging on local.bitcoin.com.

One reason why KYC/AML could be bad is if you try and reenter the fiat system it could pose tax problems, and banks could take an adversarial stance. But, KYC/AML seems like a small price to pay if you want to exit the fiat system permanently (obviously you need to earn/spend some fiat for day to day life).

But, if your goal is every time you buy bitcoin cash is to either spend/hodl it and not convert it back to fiat then cryptocurrency exchanges like Coinbase and Gemini offer the lowest fees to accomplish that job.

I can no longer justify the >10% premiums from sellers on local.bitcoin.com just to buy some Bitcoin Cash. That is to expensive of a price for privacy.
Am I missing something?

1p vs -25

So i have a trip to cancun this summer for a family member's birthday. my younger brother and i (19 and 21 respectively) would love to go snorkeling on a dose or 2 (both being experienced users of LSD-25)
Example, last summer we went on a family vacation in montego bay jamaica and I managed to score around 15g and 3.5g of hash our first day there at Margarita of all places. We always get a room to ourselves (big family) so every night we'd roll up huge hash j's and overlook the Jamaican ocean while listening to chill tunes.
I'm a little more nervous to score bud in mexico as you're less likely to run into as friendly of locals.
Back on topic, we're both big fans of L but theres a chance we also have been wanting to try 1p for a long time (and it's more easily accessible considering i can just use a bank wire or CC instead of paying the ridiculous local bitcoin fees).
Is 1p going to be just as magical as the real Mccoy? what are the major differences? I'll have my scripted kpins with me in case of emergency but it seems like they are nearly identical. It;s just you don't get to trip and snorkel in such as a beautiful ecosystem very often so I want to make sure i get the most out of it.
tl;dr what are the major differences between 1plsd and lsd-25?
